The CIKMKE aims to assist the country in managing, analyzing, accessing and utilizing its knowledge to boost the economy of the country.  CIKMKE also plays an important role in supporting evidence–based decision-making for policy makers in South Africa and creating awareness of these matters among the public in the endeavour to develop an Information Society leading to a Knowledge Society.
